The Old Muirite Union was established with the aim to ensure that Old Muirites around the world would be able to maintain contact with one another and be kept informed about current events at Muir College. The Union is headed up by an executive committee which meets on the first Thursday of every month in the Muirite Clubhouse. Old Boys are encouraged to become Members or Life Members of the Old Muirite Union.

The Old Muirite Union organises the yearly Founders weekend which is held on the 2nd weekend of March. Activities over the weekend include: Founders Assembly, Reunion Lunches, A Trip to the Old Red Brick Building, Old Boys Rugby, Old Boys Cricket, Golf as well as the anticipated O.M.U. Dinner which is held on the Saturday evening. Old Boys are encouraged to attend the festivities of the weekend as family and friends are welcome.

The Muirite Clubhouse is the pride and joy of the Old Muirite Union. It serves as a venue for Old Boys and other members of the community to enjoy, while watching cricket and rugby on weekends. The Muirite also serves as a venue for weddings, conferences, parties and is the headquarters of the O.M.U. Executive Committee. The Muirite has a fully stocked bar and will cater to the needs of the function at hand. The Muirite is can be hired for private functions at a cost of R400 which includes barmen for the function.
